how oddly prophetic when it comes to tonight subject matter.

it's finaly been announced that the new crow movie is no...i repeat not...going to be a remake of the first one.

"Norrington's CROW Movie is Not A Remake

Back in December, the Hollywood trades announced that James O'Barr's indie goth avenger 'The Crow' would be getting a reboot, with a new film by director Stephen Norrington designed to relaunch the franchise.

Many starting calling it a remake but Mania.com can exclusively report this week that the movie is an all-new take on the mythology of resurrection and revenge. It will not focus on O'Barr's original Crow, Eric Draven, and his quest to avenge the murder of his lover.

A source very close to the development effort tells us that Norrington is set to deliver his script for the film this month. Our source says that the story is "very different from the original - a whole new story about a whole new character."

This meshes with Norrington's original statement about the reinvention, in which he talked about how the movie would be tonally different.

"Whereas [Alex] Proyas’ original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style," Norrington told Daily Variety.

Watch for more about the new 'Crow' relaunch right here as things develop."

i am happy for a relaunch so long as they don't piss on the grave of brandon lee who gave his life for a film that is so beautiful it hurts to watch it. i truely would have lost my faith in humanity if they had gone ahead with a remake.

so rejoice fellow crow fans the remake is not happening but the reboot of the series is. if done right i could see it catching back on. and lets face it a reboot was needed. i love the crow so much as a series i own every book and movie plus posters, comics, action figures and custom made costumes. someday i hope to meet o'barr himself but i digress. the point is the series was a victim of it's first success and the fantastic job brandon lee did. no one could truely follow his performace and the series suffered for it. i persoanly loved city of angels and vincent perez...but salvation and waking prayer didn't do a thing for me and boardred on the rediculous.

so while it's sad they scrapped the idea of the first female crow maybe this reboot will lead to it. well we can hope anyways. take care my friends.

So, it's going to be another cinema verite movie? Seems like it's slowly making a comeback, like District 9.
