Harassment IS harassment.

Some Feminist and other activists do have a point and it's one worth addressing. Rape and Death Threats ARE harassment full stop.
one cannot wiggle around that talking point nor should we. And it would be Hypocritical for me to say that it's okay when our side of the coin does it.   This is not okay nor should it ever be considered okay.  I have never ever in my life tried to downplay such things as being acceptable BUT....this must be reciprical or it's useless point to stand on.

Whether you agree with Gamergate or not is irrelevent to this point. Harassment is never okay or cool or anything resembling a civil response to social issues. It is the last resort of cowards or those caught in the moment who are feeling rather then thinking. Some people have little to no impulse control.

That said Gamergaters are having knives sent to their homes,non gamergaters who just happen to on the fence ARE getting rape threats by people who claim to be moral individuals. simply for liking video games and not taking them so damned seriously people have been labeled "racist","sexist" haters of every women everywhere or the reason why women are afraid to walk out in the street at night. when not being called pedophiles (with no evidence), rapists (with no evidence) or rape supporters. And what blows my mind most is that the above are coming from three main sources. Big names in Hollywood,Game developers and by extention journalists,and worst of all Feminists.

The very people who should know what it feels like to be on the other end of those kinds of accusations,the very people who know the social power of those above words...are using them as a knife to place upon the throats of people who even dare to simply ask questions. By no means does this excuse the people on my side doing it right back to them but don't claim to be morally superior and then go on to bully people for not agreeing with you.

And don't come to the table with "you all need to police yourselves" when you yourself are not willing to do it with your own peers. I've been told the world would be a better place without me,that gamers need to be rounded up and killed holocaust style and again not by trolls by "well meaning" feminists.  if you don't want to have to say "well not all feminists are like that" then don't turn around and say all gamers hate women. and for the record I do know some reasonable feminists. I have no major issue with feminists who will at least give an honest consideration of facts. we may not always come to the same conclusion but at least we can have a talk that is on point. so yes I know personally that not all feminists are like that. nor would I ever claim they were.

but if you are for true equality you cannot claim special exemptions for your group. everyone must have the same rights and chances as everyone else or you are not speaking of equality you speaking of superiority. and if it is not right for a man to claim superiority over women (and it's not) then it's not okay to do the reverse. I am sorry that you don't like how equality works but either you work for the good of all or you are working for the good of the one. in which case I ask how are you any better then those you put down?

I don't support rape or death threats. at the same time I am not in charge of my fellow gamers,fellow men, or fellow anything. people will troll and we cannot stop that without stopping the free exchange of ideas. I may not like someone saying the word "nigger" to a person of color. but I'd rather they had the right to say,and face the consequences. then for that the be the start of word policing. just as you cannot control the more extreme feminists among you,who don't care about science because...shirts,I cannot control the people who will call you a cunt just to get a rise out of you. nor should I.

 I will and have fought this were I can. I do my part by not actually posting rape,death or any other threats towards women or anyone. that is all you can ever ask of me. I will stand against rape or death threats,i always have. but you too must do the same or you don't want equality you want exceptionalism.
